Active Leaders are an organisation that focuses on personal development and confidence building, through training using fun activities and events.

Developed with and for young people in mind, each training opportunity allows learners to gain practical employability skills, whilst building confidence and leadership qualities.

They deliver multiple courses and activities, aimed at varying ages and stages of development. In this blog post, we are focusing on their Active Leader and Junior Active Leader courses.

Active Leader course
A variety of learning for children and young adults, aged from years 10 and above of the UK school system.

They will cover an array of skills training such as CPR, first aid awareness, basic safeguarding and risk management. It also helps them to develop on their preparation, planning and communication, which are all key employability skills.

Sessions aim to be 70% practical with an emphasis on fun, teamwork, problem solving and interactive engagement. The course can be adapted for those in further education, training and apprenticeships. It will specifically focus on overcoming social inclusion, promote emotional well-being and fulfil work placement requirements.

The course takes 25 hours and each trainee progresses individually.
Junior Active Leader course
Aimed at primary school children in Years 5 and 6 of the UK school system.

It’s main aim is to develop activity ambassadors, leaders of playground activities and independent, confident, responsible role models.

They will look at different areas of development for a leader such as giving instructions, making a plan, keeping safe and so much more.

Sessions are 70% practical, centred around creating games and leading sessions for younger pupils. There will be an emphasis on teamwork, confidence building and trainee led learning.

The course lasts 20 hours and each trainee progresses individually.
Each learner receives printed course materials and a t-shirt. At the end of the course they will receive a report, a certificate of completion and a pin badge.

They are Covid-19 safe and have protocols in place to ensure all learners safety, in line with the latest government guidelines.
